French-American Foundation Launches Immigration Journalism Award

The French-American Foundation – United States just launched the Immigration Journalism Award, the first journalism prize specifically dedicated to excellence in the global coverage of immigration and integration.

This year, we will be selecting two winners for the best pieces published or broadcast in 2011 in the United-States or in Europe, in English or in French. All formats are accepted ( print, web, radio etc.).

Each of the awardees will receive up to $10,000 at an Awards ceremony which will take place in New-York in the Fall of this year.

Applications are open through Thursday, May 31st, and all the information to apply are on our website : http://www.frenchamerican.org/immigration-journalism-award

Also, it would be great if at the New York Foreign Press Association you could circulate the information to fellow reporters who might be interested to submit their work

For your review, please find attached the press release – in French and in English – about our fellows currently reporting on the ground as well as information to apply to the Award.

In any case, feel free to contact me directly for more information,

Sincerely,
